Public Talks can create several types of standard reports and custom reports. What follows is a brief description of each report and what type of report it creates:

Each report has it's own setup page to allow you to choose what information you would like displayed.

Custom ReportsCustom Reports

Custom Reports are very powerful because they are based upon a script file (which you create). This means the look and feel of these reports is entirely up to you. They can even include information from custom tables and fields that you might have added into the database.

Several sample scripts are supplied with the program. Manage your scripts using the Custom Reports maintenance page.

Once you have selected the custom report option, you must then click on the setup tab and choose a custom report to use.

The font settings described below have no effect on custom reports since these reports specify their own fonts. However they do still apply to the header and footer of the document. Click on the link above for more details.

The Away Talks Report produces a list of talks that you have assigned to be given away at other congregations. You can specify by date range which talk assignments you want to include.

The following information is generated for each away talk:

  • Brother
  • Talk number
  • Talk date
  • Congregation
  • Time of meeting

This report has been designed so that you can give a copy of the report to each brother that gives public talks away at other Kingdom Halls. This way, all brothers will know who is going away, when and where.

You can personalise this report by specifying what you want for the title and all the column headings.

Hospitality List ReportHospitality List Report

The Hospitality List Report generates a list of speakers visiting your Kingdom Hall and who is assigned to offer them hospitality. If you haven't specified this information, the column will be left blank for you to write in the name of a brother or sister who will be having this visiting brother back for some hospitality. You can specify by date range which talk assignments you want to include.

The following information is generated for each visiting speaker:

  • Speaker
  • Congregation
  • Talk date
  • Brother offering hospitality (optional)

This report has been designed so that you can give the printout to the brother who handles the hospitality. He can then arrange who will be giving hospitality and write their names in the blank spaces provided. Talks Summary ReportTalks Summary Report

The Talks Summary Report produces a summary of both home and away talks for the specified dates.

The report has been designed for three main reasons:

  • Produces a summary of all the talks for a given year (good for keeping records up-to-date).
  • You can select specific dates identifying your exchange with a particular congregation and send this report to them as confirmation of the exchange details.
  • You can select dates in the future which have not yet been assigned. Such entries will show as a blank entry. This allows you to write in the new details (perhaps whilst on the phone) and then add them into the program later. This feature is also useful for planning the whole year, since you will have all the dates worked out for you automatically.

Note IconThis report doesn't include the themes, just the talk numbers, hence you should find that all the information should fit widthways on a portrait A4 piece of paper. You might need to use a smaller font size though, perhaps 10pt.
