Meeting Schedule Assistant 20.3.1 is now available

Meeting Schedule Assistant Logo

I am pleased to announce that there is a new version of Meeting Schedule Assistant now available.

What’s New

This latest version includes several new features that brothers requested. Here is a summary of them.

Custom Host / Co-host Label Text

There is now a new feature called Labels which can be found on the Options menu in the Midweek Editor.

New Customize Labels window

The terms Host and Co-host come from the videoconferencing software Zoom. For Kingdom Hall meetings however we would previously have been scheduling for Audio/Visual and Attendant. By using this window you can customize the text that is used.

This window is Foreign-Language Group aware so you can set the default text differently for each language. There is also a handy Reset button which will reset back the the original wording.

Publisher Database — Refined list of Assignments

Some changes have been made to the list of Assignments on the Publishers Database window.

The Midweek Meeting assignment has been replaced with three new assignments:

  • Midweek Meeting — Treasures
  • Midweek Meeting — Gems
  • Midweek Meeting — Living

So you now have more control and can fine-tune which brothers show in which drop-down list.

Note

The software will automatically upgrade your Publisher Database for you. It will set these new assignments as checked for all publishers who had the Midweek Meeting assignment. Thereafter you can fine-tune your database as needed.

Some adjustments needed to be made to the Custom–Publishers Assignments Report and Labels Info file to factor in these new assignments. The Host and Co-host assignments were also missing from the report.

Adjusting the timing of the Treasures and Gems Items

It is now possible to override the duration of the first two items on the meeting:

Treasures From God's Word
The duration can now be adjusted for the Treasures and Gems meeting items.

Why did we make this change? Since COVID started, some congregations have been authorised to adjust meetings parts if need be. Internet connection and data subscriptions are sometimes not easy.

New Workbooks

Beginning January 2021 the Meeting Workbook covers two months. No changes are required in the Meeting Editor because you can already specify a date range for any number of weeks. You just need to remember to choose a range that covers the relevant months. Volunteers will still provide the workbook database for each issue as it is released and in accord with their existing commitments and circumstances.

Note

Please be aware that workbook data can no longer be supplied for Afrikaans or Vietnamese. Please let me know if you can become a volunteer for either of these languages.
